Wall of Success
I discovered that wildfires, caused by lightening, are increasingly driven north, now causing rapid changes in the polar region. In the Siberian tundra, for instance, where there are no trees and the ground is permanently frozen, such fires destroy the protective layer of peat, causing the permafrost to thaw for decades. This releases greenhouse gasses, such as methane. My project is about fire in the land of ice, and it will be the first to uncover the links between climate change and wildfires in the Arctic Circle.
I first worked with The Text Consultant in 2018, which helped me produce the best presentation of my life and get a VIDI grant in reward. In 2020 we had the pleasure of working together again to prepare my ERC Consolidator interview. I am the first of his clients to land both these grants. We are both very proud of that! Collaborating with him inspired me to work towards a great moment: it created a mindset in which everything was sharp and grand.
