Wall of success
Up to 80% of young delinquents reoffend within five years. The project I submitted for ERC funding is premised on the idea that crime is encouraged by short-term mindsets. I will develop and test a new theoretical perspective on criminal behaviour – Time Frame Theory – by performing virtual reality experiments in which juvenile delinquents are exposed to realistic versions of their future selves to make them more future-oriented. This may lead to a breakthrough in our understanding of the causes of delinquency and its prevention.
The Text Consultant’s distinctive approach has been invaluable in making my candidacy stand out. His feedback has also provided me with a clearer and richer understanding of the nature and purpose of the ERC Consolidator interview, which has helped to make my presentation more effective and convincing. His approach was not only informative but altogether a pleasurable and supportive experience.
